Thank you to everyone for coming along. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves.
Congratulations to the new Club Senior Champion Ben Beresford, the joint Junior Champions Elizabeth Bedwell & Nic Gordon and to the 1st lady Liz Godfree. Both the Junior & Senior courses ended in a sprint finish – sorry Mike but you were never going to beat Ben when it came to that.
This event showed us how hard it can be to plan good courses on a relatively easy area. Hopefully, the route choice options compensated for the lack of technicality. That said, I believe that at least 2 “big names” managed to navigate themselves off the map – maybe they were just looking for golf balls J
We received a considerable amount of help from David Olivant of NOC ( it was their area ) with regard to map corrections & course setting using OCAD. It was a very generous act on his part.
Everyone of Dave Wilby’s team of Park Rangers that we had dealings with were extremely friendly and helpful. We couldn’t believe it when we turned up at 07:30 to start putting controls out to find 2 of them already there, coning & taping & signing our car park. And then we come to those DVO helpers including the sick, the injured, the family members and the “not entereds” who came along and helped on start, finish, car parking and patrolling the Junior course. Thank you everyone.
If anyone wants their part 1 maps then we will take them around with us for the next couple of weeks.
