Francesco’s funeral took place at cemetery in the mountains above Lago Maggiore on March 3rd. He passed away while on holiday in his native Italy. Originally from the Bologna region, he had lived in the UK for some time and was a member of NOC, and then joined DVO around 15 years ago.
He was very involved with Bestwood Park parkrun and was a local Parish Councillor. A zealous anti-socialist who believed the welfare state had made people lazy and parasitical.
Francesco ran on the Blue course at LEI’s Cademan Wood and NOC’s Thieves Wood in January 2026.
Our thoughts are with Francesco’s family at this sad time.
