DVO have 2 club nights each week offering different options and locations. The arrangements are usually:
- Monday – A training run from varied locations in Peak District. This starts at 6:30 pm and involves a cross-country run for about 70 to 80 minutes. It normally starts and ends at a pub where, of course, some refreshment and conversation is available after the run. This is a strenuous activity and suited to people with a good level of fitness. It happens throughout the year, with head torches when necessary!
- Wednesday – A sociable training run from either Allestree in Derby (second and fourth Wednesdays of the month) or near Belper (first and third Wednesdays). This starts at 7pm and involves running on public footpaths in the summer and on roads in the winter – generally for around an hour – after which enjoy a chat and a cup of tea. A range of abilities can be accommodated.
