Chaddesden Park - Saturday 16 May 2026

Local Event

About this event

Celebrate World Orienteering Week with us (& people in 50 other countries) in Chaddesden Park. There’ll be 3 MapRun courses as follows, plus a free World Chocolate activity for kids!

Short (White/Yellow standard) – 1km, 20m climb, 8 controls
Medium (Orange standard) – 2.1km, 20m climb, 18 controls
Long (Light Green standard) – 3.2km, 30m climb, 24 controls

We will have control kites in place on the ground and there’ll be printed maps for each of the courses. A red location dot on your phone shows you where you are, or for extra challenge you can switch this off! For those who don’t want to run with a phone, you can pin-punch at each control, and we will time you manually.

Please download the MapRun app and enter your details before the event. We can help you load your course on the day.

Registration will be at Chaddesden Park Car Park, signed from Maine Drive, post code DE21 6LE. There is a café and toilets very near Registration.
