MapRun

About this event

Try our one of our Urban MapRun courses in Matlock. We have a Medium 4km course and a Long 7km course, both starting from Edge Road.

For beginners, there’s a MapRun Score Course where you can find 14 controls in Hall Leys Park in any order! The record is just 6 1/2 minutes. Do we have any challengers?

We’ll be in Hall Leys Park between 11am and 3pm to help you get started – but the MapRuns remain open for you to complete any time, after the event. Hall Leys is an ornamental park by the River Derwent with a boating lake, miniature railway and a café. It was opened in 1911 to celebrate the coronation of King George V.

Entries will open on Fabian4 in late July and there’ll be limited entry on the day.

The event is Day 3 of probably the ONLY EVER Golden Rose event! Normally orienteers run in the White Rose event in north Yorkshire on August Bank Holiday weekend, but this year the organising club were sadly unable to host.
