Markeaton Park - Saturday 2 May 2026

Local Event

About this event

The first event of our spring series is at lovely Markeaton Park. We have 3 MapRun courses and the free 400m SuperSprint course from last year, which uses chip timing. In 2025 our fastest finisher took 1 min 21 seconds!

Short (White/Yellow standard) – 1.3km, 5m climb, 13 controls
Medium (Orange standard) – 2.6km, 30m climb, 14 controls
Long (Light Green standard) – 5.2km, 40m climb, 22 controls

We will have control kites in place on the ground and there’ll be printed maps for each of the courses. A red location dot on your phone shows you where you are, or for extra challenge you can switch this off! For those who don’t want to run with a phone, you can pin-punch at each control, and we will time you manually.

Please download the MapRun app and enter your details before the event. We can help you load your course on the day.

Registration will be in front of the Orangery Café at Markeaton Craft Village in the middle of the park. The closest parking is the overflow car park for the Mundy Play Centre off Kedleston Road/Markeaton Lane DE22 3BG. The car park signed from the A52/A38 roundabout is also nearby. Payment for both car parks is through the mipermit app.
