Each stage includes free entry to a local orienteering event, where you can try out your newly acquired skills.
Course dates and times
Stage 1 May 2025
- Saturdays 3rd and 10th 1–3pm in Markeaton Park
- Thursdays 8th and 15th 7.30–8.15pm Zoom follow-up
- Saturday 17th 1-2.30pm try a real orienteering event at Eyes Meadow
Stage 2 June 2025
- Saturdays 7th and 14th 1–3pm in Darley Park and Allestree Park
- Thursdays 12th and 19th 7.30-8.15pm Zoom follow-up
- Sunday 22nd 10-12 noon try a real orienteering event at Wirksworth Urban

Fees
Fees cover all maps, event fees (includes entry to the two orienteering events, worth an adult rate of £15.), loan of specialised equipment (compasses, electronic timing devices) and the club’s expenses (e.g. the access fees, governing body fees etc.)
- Adult Full course paid in advance £30. For just one part, Stage 1 or Stage 2: £18.
- Family Fee for 1 adult/carer and 1 child in School year 5+ (age 8 years+). Full course £42. For just one of Stage 1 or Stage 2: £24.
