Parking

Due to parking limitations in the main car park, there are three different car parking areas. Please read the options before deciding which one is right for you. Even the most distant car park is only 500m from Assembly, and a pleasant walk through parkland.
Older competitors and families with young children – use Allestree Park car park at w3w//adding.stump.carbon, DE22 2ET, SK348407.
DVO helpers – use the Woodlands Road car park at w3w//voting.quiet.powder. Follow the taped route 300m to the Hall.
Everyone else to park on Main Avenue, w3w//launch.pencil.banana, DE22 2EF, SK350399. Follow the directions of the marshall and the taped route along a tarmacked path 500m to the Hall.
Especially for those parking on Main Avenue: please be mindful that this is a residential area and residents will not want to see people getting changed. There will be a tent at Assembly for leaving bags.

Public toilets are available at Allestree Hall, 5–10 mins walk from here. Due to future building work, these may be closed and replaced by portable toilets.

Registration is also at the Hall, the Start 200m from there, and the Finish 250m. Registration will be open between 10 and 12 noon, come here to enter on the day, with payment by cash or card.

Mapper’s Notes

  1. The green cross denotes dead tree or rootstock, only the most prominent have been mapped.
  2. Much of the open parkland is a former golf course, now a site for rewilding projects. Several bunkers has been designated as bee and wasp habitats with a small hedge planted along one side, these have been marked as OOB (olive green), other bunkers are small depressions. Fairways have been mown to create paths. These can be subject to change and, although they offer marginally faster running, should not be relied on absolutely for navigation.
  3. In the woodland, rhododendrons have been removed and narrow hedges created with the branches. These activities are unfinished so only the uppermost (western) of these hedges has been mapped.
Map availability as of Saturday am:
Brown (7); Blue (5); Green (9); Short Green (20); VSG (4); Light Green (9); Orange (9); Yellow (11); White (8)
