Amber Valley Primary Schools Orienteering Championships 2022

Duffield Meadows Primary School A -Team winners of the Clover Leaf Relay course.

Rex Bleakman reports on this event held at Eyes Meadow, Duffield on 14th July

The competition was jointly organised by AVSSP Team Leader, Rob Shaw and Rex Bleakman (DVO). We were ably supported by Judith Holt, John Cooke, Jim Jenkinson and Mike Gardner from DVO and Neil of AVSSP.

Eighteen teams from eight schools had a great afternoon. First competing in teams of four on the Clover Leaf Relay course to decide the Championship and then, just for fun, in an All-In, mass start, relay.

The photo shows Duffield Meadows Primary School A-Team of four, supported by some of their competing school friends and their teacher, proudly show the winners trophy after completing the Clover Leaf Relay course in 6.35 minutes.

Every child received a participation certificate and the whole, sun-drenched, afternoon was voted a great success.

Participating Schools were:

  • Belper, St.Johns
  • Belper, St Elizabeths
  • Codnor
  • Duffield Meadows
  • Heage
  • Holbrook
  • Kilburn
  • Mapperly/Horsley
