Derby+ Night MapRun series 2024

Our Derby+ MapRun series 2024 is underway! You can review your own performance by using the links to the MapRun pages below.

Many braved the negative temperatures in Heanor and the much milder conditions in Oakwood – great running all round! Find a short video of the Heanor mass start here.

Belper was a hilly affair whereas Spondon was flatter but proved a navigational challenge with so many small parks and alleyways. Try and pick yourself out from the ‘dots‘ in Spondon!

We ventured into the parks of Littleover which left many with slightly soggy feet but was lots of fun. Duffield presented another hilly challenge but there were many smiles at the finish regardless. Back to Heatherton for some very wiggly roads before the challenge of Mackworth!

It was exciting to be joined by runners from a host of running backgrounds including those from Smalley Road Runners, Derby Tri Club, Belper 10:20 Tri Club, Belper Harriers, Mansfield AC and Team Derby Runner to name just a few! Many thanks to David, Chris, John, James, Dave and Graham for planning really challenging courses!

We ended the series with two daylight events, the first in Markeaton Park (I hope you enjoyed crossing the curly bridge) and Darley Park (with the extended map into two urban areas).

Each night ends with a chance to debrief and rehydrate. Cheers!
