Parkrun has been a phenomenon for some 20 years now, and every Saturday morning when I scroll Strava, I see where fellow DVO members have been running. Will it be Australia (Markeaton) or the girl with the long hair...
If you have enjoyed Maprun, you would be more than welcome to come along to another – find your next event!
A big thank you to Sport England and the Orienteering Foundation for providing funding to make these events possible and for Maprun developers for providing such an amazing free App.

Here are just a few of the highlights:
Our first events in Shipley and Wirksworth provided a great start to the series with many new faces. Everyone made light work of the navigation and hills. Well done!

We had an amazing event starting from probably the best pub in Derby North. Derby’s West End certainly provided a navigational challenge – thanks John for planning the course.

Next to Mickleover for our largest number of participants so far (52). Quite a navigational challenge on a fast and flat area – what a beautiful evening for a run.

The twilight series closed with a maprun around Oakwood. A big thank you to Mike for course setting and a massive well done to our runners!

We were certainly into headtorch territory in Ripley. A big welcome to runners from Ripley RC, Jog Duffield and many thanks to Simon for planning.

Onwards to hilly Belper! Not to be outdone by the cold we had a great turnout on a lovely fresh night. Thanks Dave for marshaling and planning our courses.

Barmy temperatures in Chellaston – very warm for the time of year. Thank you to Chris for planning such an interesting course that had many scratching their heads.

Our final maprun in this series was Mackworth. The Christmas twist was to find our Christmas mascot. Well done to those who spotted the tinsel cactus!

New dates for 2026 on our events page! Come along and see what we are about.
